Mentoring is God’s design to disciple the next generation. It is the way we pass on our faith. People have heard the Gospel, but what’s missing is life transformation.
We have failed as a church to impart life skills. We have failed to disciple – to model how to live. We’ve thought that transmitting information will suffice… but information is not enough; people need life-to-life, relational help, someone to walk alongside, someone to show them how to do life – not just theology, but life skills – how to process what they learn, how to apply basic life skills to financial decisions, relationships, and career choices. People need guidance. And wisdom. The fields are ripe for harvest, but the workers are few. It’s time to step up and answer the call.
